It's like all the different colors of confetti have been sorted into different jars of like colors, so Photoshop is less bewilderingly in my face. These summaries are great for flipping through the book quickly to get an overview of what's under the hood, and they helped me see what I need to focus on first to accomplish the kinds of work I want to accomplish. First, the tools are discussed in relational categories (e.g., the different selection tools and how they are used) with a short summary paragraph at the top of the page for each tool telling how it can be used. I have the Adobe Creative Suite 5 (version 12 of Photoshop), and I've found this book to be most instructive. I open it with great trepidation! The fact that some of the short-cut keys I habitually use in Illustrator do completely different things in PhotoShop is also a constant source of aggravation.
